Review: Mimididi 3D Diamond Powder EyeShadow

Hello lovelies! Hope you're all well :) Just want to start by saying thank you as I've reached 800 followers which means... another giveaway soon! Keep your eyes peeled for it ^^

For this week's post I'm going to be reviewing KKCenter's mimididi 3D Diamond Powder Eyeshadow:

This brand is completely unfamiliar to me as most KKCenterHK items are (that's the joy of reviewing their products - I have no expectations about quality etc.) and at the back of the packaging we can see English, Korean and Chinese. Like with my previous KKCenterHK review, I don't know where this product was made in but since the majority of the writing is in Korean... we can assume that this was made in Korea.

I find the packaging to be quite unique and nice~

Comes with a cute sponge tip applicator and mirror. Very handy.

There is also an expiry date at the back: 2014.10

 

Opens out like so - I like the packaging design! Neat :)

This makes a gorgeous base and highlight colour ^^

Also, this could be used on top of matte eyeshadows or for some extra shimmer

I love glitter eyeshadows and I don't own a single matte eyeshadow. I find glitter so pretty and since I'm such a girly girl, I'm attracted to anything sparkly *_* Can't go wrong with sparkly, shimmery eyeshadow!

It's a very pretty swatch however I noticed quite a bit of fallout. The consistency was smooth which is a plus. The next picture is a test of its staying power without a primer underneath. I swiped over the swatch with my hand and this was what happened...

Most of the pigment is gone but you still see glitter

It's true that staying power does differ from brand to brand but don't let that put you off from getting a certain eyeshadow. All you gotta do is invest in an eyeshadow primer and your eyeshadow will last regardless of the brand. I think pigmentation and no to little fallout are definitely more important when it comes to picking eyeshadows.

Here I have demonstrated how the eyeshadow looks on its own with and without eyeshadow primer underneath:

 No primer underneath. See how the pigment is mostly at the centre? Primers make the eyeshadow smooth on more nicely and the pigment appears more vibrant.

Can you see the difference from the first picture? The eyeshadow and the shimmer has spread more evenly across my eyelids

Pros (+) and cons (-):

+ Cute packaging

+ Comes with a mirror and sponge tip applicator

+ Extremely shimmery

+ Decent pigmentation

+ Swatch is true to the pan

+ Smoothes on nicely

+ Stays on with a primer underneath

+ Multipurpose shade

 - Slight fallout of eyeshadow

- Not as pigmented on the eyelid

- Amount of glitter may be overwhelming/difficult to deal with

- Below average staying power on its own

Overall it is a decent eyeshadow. Nothing too amazing besides the pretty shimmer and neat packaging. It's totally suitable for people on the go because of the mirror and mini applicator. As for the colour, I know I'll definitely be using this for my base colour and inner corner highlighter ^__^

Currently the product is listed as sold out so I don't know how much this costs - sorry!

Anyway, that's the end of my review. I would've liked to have used the eyeshadow to create a look (to make this review seem less dull) but unfortunately I was tight on time. Here I am complaining again about uni taking up way too much of my time :(

OOTD: Pastel, Bright and Metallic

Hello! About time I did an Outfit of the Day post haha, I think the last time I did one was early last year. My motivation to do this OOTD post was from you guys who suggested it in my giveaway's questjen of what you'd like to see more of on my blog.

Apologies for the lack of pictures and the quality. I took them with my point-and-shoot camera and iPod which is really grainy but best for self shots :/ I definitely want to invest in a DSLR or compact DSLR however it's not something of high priority. I'd be more than happy to receive it as a gift though hehe :)

Anyway, this OOTD was really simple and that was essentially what I was aiming for. I attended a birthday dinner last Saturday and the venue was a very chilled, family restaurant hence I didn't feel that it was necessary to wear something dressy etc.

If you saw my previous post on those magazine pictures, the current trends right now are fluros, pastels and metallics. I hope it wasn't a fashion crime for me to do a 3-in-1 lol!

Before I decided to walk out of the door with this outfit, I admit that I did do a little research online (oh gosh this makes me sound so nerdy!). As I am not a self-proclaimed fashionista or anything close to it, I was a little unsure whether mint and orange/ochre would be an okay combination and to my surprise, I did find other people's OOTD with mint and orange! Great to have some reassurance - it surely gave me the green light to wear this pastel and bright combo out!

And with the metallic accessories... I hope they were a suitable addition to my pastel and bright combo. Again I wasn't too sure but I didn't bother doing any researching aka stalking other people's OOTDs and getting ideas. XD But it should be safe considering that I normally always wear silver and gold jewellery.

Since this is strictly a OOTD post, I feel no need to show my face! Haha but seriously, for the night I only wore eyeliner for eye makeup and kept my hair straight and down. Nothing fancy :P

So yeah, that's it to my first OOTD for the year, hope it was somewhat interesting. Fingers crossed that I'll have better-quality pictures for my next OOTD where the lighting is better. I also need to invest in a tripod...

My answer: Pastel! I find it to be the most pretty and girly :3 Totally my style and suitable for spring and summer

Manage your (blogging) time with a personalised planner!

Sometimes I find it tough having to manage my blog and also keep up with uni, work and other leisure activities as it all can be quite overwhelming, especially when there are deadlines to meet. Therefore to help me manage my time, I must have a calendar hung up in my room as well as...

A diary/personal planner :) Ever since I started school I have used a diary, and even though my university doesn't provide each student with a diary (we have to go get it ourselves), I'd go out and get one myself because it has become an essential item for me each year. It's my way of planning things and being organised - I wouldn't know how I would be without it!

I'm so organised that I already went and got my 2013 diary!! Haha ok I admit that I'm not thaaaat organised but yes, I do have a 2013 diary ready for use. This is all thanks to personal-planner.com.au and their offer that I couldn't decline. This saves me from having to search for the perfect diary... because this is perfect enough for me.

Why? Because it was 100% personalised by myself. I picked the size, design, colour scheme and layout to suit my needs.

I chose pink because it's my favourite colour (if you didn't already know) and the bird design because it's very cute and it reminds me of the Twitter bird (and I like Twitter keke)

There's my little greeting message that I compiled the with the help of the message templates provided

The little extras that this planner has that others typically don't are a plastic ruler, elastic closure and plastic sleeve which are all removable

I went with the pink, grey and white theme - it's simple and not too over-the-top. Here is how I decided to have the layout for the weekly planner:

It starts with the last week of December 2012 (let's hope the world doesn't end by then... not that I'm paranoid about that haha, just saying)

At the bottom you can choose what boxes to have there. The ones I find to be the most useful are lists, tasks, to-do list, mini calendar and notes.

You could even import your Facebook friends' birthdays into the weekly planner. I didn't choose to do this though.

And because I loooove sudoku so much, I chose to have 8 pages of it!!

... and I've already completed one page lol

I also have this maze thing to do if I ever get bored. Sudoku solutions on the right.

 And around 20 lined pages for notes at the end of the planner

Although I haven't officially started using it yet, I know that I will absolutely love it because it's one-of-a-kind *Kpop reference: starts singing GD's One of a Kind* and there are no unnecessary pages that a regular unpersonalised diary may have :) It's just the way I want it!

My answer: All the time!!

Currently using: SNSD calendar up in my room and Kikki.K diary. And I always check dates on my laptop's bottom right-hand corner calendar and my phone calendar!
