OOTD: BIGBANG 'MADE' World Tour

Once again university has consumed most of my life (this is my final semester and then I'll be done, hopefully!) which had led me to neglecting the blog but I thought I'd sneak in a quick post while I procrastinate (what I'm best at) as I have my last exam in a few days.

So if you follow me on Twitter/Snapchat, you'll know that I went to Melbourne (second time this year, golly gosh!) a few weeks ago to see one of my favourite Korean boy groups live - BIGBANG!! They were actually the first K-pop group that I got into back in 2008 and I've been a fan of theirs ever since :D For them to be the first ever K-pop group I liked and now being the first ever K-pop group to see live, it was absolutely incredible!!!

This post isn't going to be a recount of my stay in Melbourne or the concert experience which I could perhaps, save for another post. Let's hit the ball rolling by sharing my concert outfit and look.

Clothing:

Jacket: Dotti
Gilet: YOINS*
Jeans: Mavi Alissa Ankle
Top: JayJays
Shoes: New Balance 620 Sneakers*

Accessories:

Bandana: Ebay
Red hair extensions: Ebay
Phone case: Forever New
Choker: Lulu & Rose*
Ring: Pandora
Watch: Michael Kors
Bag: Kate Spade

It was surprisingly cold, wet and windy in Melbourne, 18 or 19 degrees C from vague memory so I wasn't expected to rug up more than usual. My initial plan was to wear a singlet and a thin jacket but I definitely needed to layer it on! And I know, it's very black. Black on black on black even, haha. But I guess I was trying to channel my inner GD (my favourite BB member) with his black and also the red hair extensions :P

Yaaaaaaasssss

For anyone who doesn't know who BIGBANG are, you've been living under a rock here's a picture of them:

L-R: T.O.P, Daesung, Taeyang, GD and Seungri

I wanted to wear a pair of black skinny jeans with rips (maybe not as many rips as Seungri's in the above picture) but I don't own a pair and haven't found any that I like! Again, this was to go with the style that I was after, that rocker/edgy look that GD tends to go for.

I wore casual shoes/sneakers as I needed to do quite a bit of walking from the apartment I was staying at to Rod Laver Arena and didn't want my feet to get wet from the rain earlier on in the day. These were purchased from Glue Store along with my pentagram choker which slightly resembles Taeyeon's in her 'I' MV.

Hers is prettier :3
I would say that the pieces that made me look edgy were my bandana, jacket and gilet! I absolutely LOVE sleeveless jackets/coats and they're so easy to wear as they go with anything. The one I wore was one from YOINS (Your Inspiration), a trendy online store with pieces at affordable prices. It's been an amazing addition to my wardrobe and I've worn it out so many times. It's lightweight and has a relaxed fit, making it super comfy and stylish with its waterfall design. The waist tie makes it sit better on the body however it is completely optional having it tied.

I wear mine to work sometimes with a T-shirt or long sleeve underneath

I'm yet to upload my photos from my Melbourne trip and concert on Facebook but I have uploaded my fancams on YouTube which you can check out here if you're curious or wanting to relive the awesome BB moments :D I'll share a teaser video below:

A few more happy snaps pre, during and post-concert to share:

Not only did I get to see BB but also my fellow BBs, Blogger Babes! Chloe and Melody
Let me know if you'd like to hear more about my concert experience, like a fan-account sort of thing even though I didn't 'interact' with the boys haha. Otherwise I can answer any questions that you may have below!

Questjen for you:

What's been your favourite concert experience? And did you create an outfit for it?

I've only been to three concerts - Harrison Craig, Paramore and BIGBANG and videos of those are all on my YouTube channel. I'm not sure if any other concert I attend in the future can beat BIGBANG's hehe but I would love to see them again! And yes I do try to style my concert outfits to match the artist to get into the supportive spirit :)

f(x) 'Red Light' MV Inspired Look - Krystal

Hey, I love it when my favourite K-pop groups make a comeback, especially girl groups because I always look forward to seeing their concept for their 'teaser' photos and music video, and to possibly get some inspiration from those. Think of these concepts as 'cosplay' with all the different hair colours and costumes but not based on any particular character and are created by their stylists. f(x) recently came back with their 'Red Light' title track and album and their style is not overly cute nor sexy (the two concepts that many girl groups aim for these days) but instead consists of dark makeup and camo-style outfits. From seeing f(x)'s teaser photos and music video, I was immediately inspired to create one of their looks on myself and share on my blog for fun. Here's how it went:

I decided to base my look on f(Krystal) because out of all the members, hers looked the most dramatic and when it comes to inspired looks like these, the more dramatic the better! And she dyed her hair platinum blonde and then I remembered I had a blonde wig (which I rarely use) and was perfect for this :D

Here are more shots of Krystal from the MV:

She wore a headpiece and a crown

The thing that really captured my attention from the look was the one black, smokey eye and the other almost completely bare with a coloured contact lens on. This was pretty consistent with all of the members however I felt that Krystal stood out the most with her super dangle-y headpiece and ice-like crown/headband (where would I get one of those?!)

As I say for all of my inspired looks, my intention is not to create a replica or tutorial on how to get this look - this is just my own interpretation where I have used items that I already had, to look as close as possible to the items worn by Krystal.

A tick for the blonde wig, a tick for an army-green jacket but with the headpiece... that was where I had some issues. Considering that I never wear headpieces or anything on my head (if you see me with a headband a la cat ears, it means I'm wearing them for a special occasion), I wasn't thinking about buying one and thought I could just wrap some gold chains around my head... but that didn't work.

I had a browse online and found this one and thought it was perfect but now it's sold out!!! And it's called 'Crystal' like Krystal too, omg. I settled for the cheapest one I could find in the store ($4, online it's still full price) to wear and draped gold chains over it. Unfortunately I only had two gold chains and I didn't have crosses but I had butterflies:

Accessories sorted!

These are the products (minus tools such as brushes) that I used to achieve the inspired look:

FACE:
ELES Age Defying BB Cream 30*
Tony Moly Crystal Light Gold Beam
Rimmel Stay Matte Dual Action Concealer
Ardell Brow Sculpting Gel

EYES:
GEO Angel Blue Lenses
Australis Eyeshadow Primer
ELES Signature Shadow Quad in Minimalist*
ELES Mineral Matte Shadow in Sand*
Australis Eye Pencil in Blackest Black
Rimmel Soft Kohl Eye Liner Pencil in 071 Pure White
Maybelline HyperSharp Liner
Benefit They're Real! Push-Up Liner (still trialling for review purposes)*
Maybelline The Falsies Waterproof Mascara
Dolly Wink Eyelash Glue
Taiwan Bottom Lashes in 011

LIPS:
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in 625 Iced Amethyst
Couleur Caramel Rouge a Levres Lipstick in 119*

I used the lightest shade of BB Cream that I had to correspond with Krystal's pale complexion and used concealer for extra coverage. I highlighted my nose bridge, brow bone, cheek bones and cupid's bow. For my brows, I kept them a natural brown like Krystal's and used my light brown brow gel to fill and lighten them up a bit. I couldn't see any blush on Krystal's cheeks so I didn't apply any.

Krystal's contact lens is a blue-green colour with no limbal ring (the black around a circle lens to give a dolly look) however I didn't have any other lenses that were blue so I used my GEO Angel Blue ones. This gave my eye a more doe-eyed look compared to Krystal's.

Left eye (no lens):

I applied eyeshadow primer all over my lid and applied black matte eyeshadow right up to the groove of my eye socket. I also applied the eyeshadow to my bottom lash line. I then used the brown matte eyeshadow and placed it right above the black eyeshadow and directly under the black used on the bottom lash line. I blended these together to create a smokey look and minimise any harsh lines. I winged my eyeliner, curled my lashes and applied a few coats of mascara. I used bottom lashes (half) that had a similar thick-thin style.

Right eye (lens):

Again, eyeshadow primer went on first and then a sand-coloured matte eyeshadow all over my eyelid and bottom lash line. Using my liquid eyeliner, I drew a thin line on top of the lashes and applied white eyeliner on my waterline. I finished it off with curling my lashes and applying mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

It all sounds pretty straight forward but it took me a few tries to get the smokey eye right and the way I wanted it to be. Perhaps it's because I hadn't done one in such a long time. Anyway I'm glad I only needed to do it on one eye or else it would've taken me even longer!

And finally to the lips:

It's so weird seeing the blonde against the bottom half of my face... doesn't even look like me o_o

I made my top lip look thinner than usual and my bottom lip slightly thicker (not like it needed to be any more thick haha). Krystal's got a dark ombre lip going on with purple matte lip products. I've only got one purple matte lipstick and it happens to be my darkest one, so I used it for the centre of my lips. The outer lipstick is a lighter purple and has a creamy consistency, hence the glossiness. I could have went for fully-matte lips but I didn't want to risk drying out my lips, plus I prefer smooth, glossy lips!

So there we go, the finished look where I had a few hiccups along the way with the accessorising and makeup application but overall I'm pleased with how it turned out :)

In the end I even added a small 'freckle' near the side of my nose, Krystal-style!

Oh and here's the full MV if you're keen to see the rest of the girls' looks and/or listen to their latest track:

Questjen for you:

Whose look did you like the best in the Red Light MV?

If you don't know their names, you can identify them by their hair colours/styles

I could say good things about each look and although I was most inspired by Krystal's, I was fangirling the most over Sulli! I wanted to recreate her look too but I didn't have brown lenses or the right accessories~

She's the youngest member of f(x) and she's all grown up looking more and more stunning

I hope to do more of these inspired looks in the near future and if there are any requests, feel free to shoot them my way!

Inspired Look - Goo Hara (Damaged Lady - KARA MV)

Hello, I have a makeup look to share which was inspired by the gorgeous Goo Hara from the K-pop girl group KARA in their latest music video 'Damaged Lady'. The first time I saw the teaser for this MV, my eyes were instantly drawn to Hara's amazing look with those stunning grey contacts and bold ombre lip. I have seen some people do a tutorial for this look and they did amazing jobs. From seeing other people's take on this look, I felt inspired to recreate this look with a slight smokey eye.

Just to reiterate, this is not a replication of her look which is why it looks nothing like it! I like being creative with looks that I see and changing them a bit to better suit my features (or make do with products that I already have).

Plus Hara is such a doll and there's no way that I could look as good as her with the same makeup application! Our features are completely different and I'm not a pro with makeup replications/transformations (unlike Promise Phan on YouTube).

I love her smirk hehe (which I fail to do)

There's also a tutorial that I chose not to follow (credits to Elisa)

This is the music video teaser that had me captivated by Hara's look, seen in the first 5 seconds:

And a few gifs from the MV:

The products that I used to achieve this look:

EOS Gray 307 Lenses
Gi & Gary Eyelashes B3 2L Black
Dolly Wink Eyelash Glue
Essence I Love Runway Highlighter
Models Prefer Matte Black Kohl Pencil
Mimididi Flashing Diamond Powder Eyeshadow in 02
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light
Australis Eyeshadow Primer
Revlon Lipstick in 070 Soft Nude
Maybelline Colour Whisper in 95 Mad for Magenta
Natio Rich Colour Creme Gloss in Passion
Benefit Fake Up Concealer in Medium
Diamond Blush
Shiseido Eyelash Curler
Dolly Wink Eyebrow Pencil in 3 Dark Chocolate
Heroin Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner
Maybelline The Mega Plush Volum'Express Waterproof in Very Black

I wore gold and black just like Hara

These were the only grey lenses that I had

I want to quickly showcase the eyeshadow quad that I used to create my smokey brown eyes. It is from the brand ELES which you may be familiar with if you're a frequent reader of my blog:

RRP $99.00 AUD

The reason why I love featuring ELES cosmetics on my blog is because they're great quality and is a brand that I completely trust. They are cruelty-free and the formula of all of their mineral makeup products are superb. These eyeshadows are hypoallergenic, oil-free, talc-free, dye-free,  and fragrance-free! I love that they are also packed with vitamins A, C and E to condition and protect the delicate eye area so that you can be sure not to experience any irritations and that this product is safe to use on all skin types.

The application is smooth and gives a velvety finish. They were a breeze to blend together to create the smokey look. With some eyeshadows, it is a must to wear eyeshadow primer underneath however with these ones, it wasn't necessary for me to wear primer because even with the swatches without primer underneath, they stayed on well.

Also, I liked how they are shimmery but not too shimmery. The amount of shimmer is perfect for me and the brown shade was great to use not only as eyeshadow but also for contouring!

A golden smokey brown with a hint of orange

The ombre lips was a bit of a challenge for me but it was quite a lot of fun to try out!

I did my best with accessorising with items that I already had at home to go with the look
Studded, dangly earrings and hair up in a messy low bun

I also used these easy stick-on nails that had gold patterns

Overall I enjoyed recreating this look and I hope to see more K-pop artists with dazzling eye makeup. I've missed doing these inspired looks - it's been a while since I've see an artist's look that I've really admired.

What did you think of my look?

Questjen of the week:
Do you like seeing inspired makeup looks?

It doesn't just to have be from me but from anyone. Though I'd like to hear your thoughts on whether you enjoy seeing these types of posts from me, especially since it's been ages since I last did one! Should I do more of them? Or do you have any suggestions? Please let me know :D

Jen xx

I'm back + Tag Q&A

Hiiiii *waves frantically* my exams are complete and my first year of uni is already over! Gosh I can't believe how fast this has gone by, I am so stoked to be on break right now because I will be on holidays for the next 3-4 months straight :D Ah it's really exciting to have this long break again and now that I know how fast those months can go by (had a similar break like this for the first time starting last year), I am bound to make the most of each and everyday. Today marks the first day of being stress-free and exam-less *dances*

It's great to be blogging again after a couple of weeks and you're all probably sick of coming to my page seeing my previous post being the latest post (back in Halloween lol). Now I'll be able to blog more often instead of the usual once a week. Give it time but I reckon I can do twice a week, maybe even three times a week. We shall see!

As I was saying on Twitter today, I usually have exciting news to follow on from a comeback post. Last time I had a hair colour change. Last year I had news about giveaways. This time though..... nothing :( Sadly nothing exciting has happened to me within the last couple of weeks. Studying for exams is definitely not exciting! Of course I am excited about being back and all but what's in it for you guys, hmm? There could potentially be giveaway but only until I reach my next milestone *hint, probably not anytime soon*

Sorry I don't even have an updated picture of myself to post here! Instead I am going to use a picture that I took about a week before my hiatus:

Can you guess who those pretty ladies on my wall are?

The girls with the power of 9 - SNSD aka Girls' Generation! So yeah, I purchased my first ever poster and it happens to be a K-pop poster.... of my favourite K-pop girl group. Everytime I mention them here or on Twitter I feel like a bunch of haters are going to bash on me for liking them and stuff :( I don't know why they are so many antis, these girls are awesome!
And I totally hate myself for not seeing them perform at Sydney's K-pop Music Festival on Saturday night

Oh and you're probably wondering why I'm wearing so much eye makeup. I wasn't going anywhere, just um playing around with my eyeshadow palettes and eyeliner.

iPod camera totally washed out the vibrancy but it was a blue-green gradient
I haven't done makeup looks and tutorials in ages, should I do them again?

Do you like my Hello Kitty cover? I know someone who would. Suzy from the group MissA has the same cover design as me!! I swear I bought mine before knowing that she has the same and before seeing her picture of it here:

Lol! *fangirl moment*

Never have I seen a celebrity with something the same as me, wow. And I purchased my cover on eBay... so does that mean Suzy buys from eBay too? Hahaha, who knows. Again I totally hate myself for not seeing Suzy and MissA in Sydney on Saturday night, fml.

The only exciting thing I could do a blog post on where I lack photos would be tag questions. I've been tagged quite a few times yet I never had the chance to do the tags and answer them! Here are two that I have been tagged in:

This award was given to me by Nancy of Ms Nancy's Fancies!

So for this award/tag I have to list 7 random things about me and answer some questions.

Share seven random things about yourself:

1. I can't stand having overly dry hands. I always need hand cream. If I don't have hand cream with me, I would have the urge to wash my hands just to make them moist, even though they are already clean.

2. My face and skin are better off without the use of cleansers, toners etc. I experimented with this when I didn't use anything for a couple of weeks and my face was baby-skin smooth and clear. It still is.

3. I have forehead wrinkles when I raise my eyebrows. I have noticed this since I was young and had always thought it was normal until my boyfriend pointed it out to me. This is why I believe I should always have a side fringe and never have my forehead showing.

4. I am fascinated by piercings, but only on the ears. I would get conch/tragus/rook piercings but I am too afraid to pierce through cartilage. And you know what? My most viewed post of 3000+ views is my post about my new lobe piercing

5. I would consider getting non-surgical rhinoplasty in the future when I know a certified place in my city to get it done and when I have the money.

6. I want K-pop to be more involved in my life than it already is. If my uni offered Korean classes, I would take them. If I could host a K-pop radio show, I would do it. If I could travel to South Korea, I would go there. But with that said I am by no means, a wannabe. The singers and groups are my idols and I hope to see them in concert one day.

7. I think I have good fashion sense but my wardrobe doesn't fully consist of really pretty pieces because those are always so pricey... and I rarely spend heaps on clothes. Now you know why I rarely do outfit posts and would rather do fashion posts about online shops and their gorgeous designs.

Answer the following questions:

Favourite colour: Pink

Favourite song: At the moment I'm loving 'Cry Cry' by T-ara, both the normal and ballad version. However it feels really bias to say that because I mention those girls so much on my blog :/ But I really do like their latest song, way more than their last few releases! Without seeming bias though, my other favourite song right now is 'Bad' by Tablo feat. Jinsil.

Favourite dessert: No favourite, I like cake/ice creams

What is pissing you off: My fringe which desperately needs a cut. It's long enough to cover my eyes but not long enough to tuck behind my ear. FUUUU so annoying. I'll probably get it cut soon....

When you're upset, you: Listen to music

Your favourite pet: My baby cat Coco

Black or white: White

Biggest fear: Death. I'm scared to lose the ones I love ='[ Next biggest fear would be spiders

Best feature: My non-fussiness. I hardly ever complain and I am always grateful and thankful for all the good in my life (sounds cheesy, I know)

Everyday attitude: Start each day being positive and see where it gets you

What is perfection: Definitely not me

Guilty pleasure: Indulging in sweets and savouries a bit too often :3

Okay now to a q&a that i was recently tagged by Gerry! Thanks lovely ^_^

11 questions tag game

1. What is your full name and how old are you?
My full name is Jennifer (I’ll leave out my surname) and I am 18 and a half years old. I’d be happy to stay 18 for the rest of my life (only bad thing would be the no pay rise ;/).

2. What are your hobbies?
Blogging, watching dramas/music shows, singing, listening to music, makeup lol... yes makeup is a hobby. There's more I think but meh.

3. What's your style like? Who/what inspires you?
I like the chic, elegant look but mostly I’m girly. I love florals, lace and bows. Nothing and no one inspires me.

4. Best fashion/beauty tip?
Mm I’m not much of a fashionista so I’ll give a beauty tip instead – use a lash comb after applying mascara. People get put off by using a mascara that clumps but that problem can easily be fixed with combing your lashes :) Then you'll always have clump-free lashes!

5. One thing that you cannot live without? And I don't mean air, food or your boyfriend!
Haha I would have said all of the above! But since I can’t I’ll say that I can’t live without water. Not only is water essential for well... everything and everyone but I am an absolute ‘water hog’ (I got the name from Tezza, we’re both the same lol). Water bottle is with me everywhere I go. If I don’t have water with me I will feel worried because I hate feeling thirsty. I always have a water bottle in my room and bag. I can't see how people can dislike drinking water, it's so healthy, 0 calories and quenches thirst!

6. Celebrity crush? Why?
Ooh! I haven’t spoken about a celebrity crush in ages *blushes* I think the last time I answered a question like this was back in primary school in those quizzes from those girly magazines like Total Girl xD Even at this age of 18, I’m sort of blushing when I admit that I do have celebrity crush/es. And guess what? They’re all K-pop idols... lol. I’ve had like 3-4 in the past 3 years of being into K-pop lmao, equates to about one a year! Now my top two male biases are Jonghyun from SHINee (I’m still so devastated about missing out on seeing him and the others in Sydney last Saturday... FML) and Donghae from Super Junior, ahaha (glad Suju didn’t come to Australia too last weekend or else I would’ve cried a river). And why you ask? Because I love their personalities as well as their looks. I won’t say more just in case I start fangirling *cough* I’ve tried to start admiring younger, new male idols and groups but some the members turn out to be a couple of years younger than me... and I just can’t have a crush on someone younger than me! Someone who has less life experience than me :S

7. Favorite body feature(s)? Why?
Yes I have to make another K-pop reference. Just want to put it out there that I love Secret and SNSD. Both groups have girls with gorgeous bodies and I like them for different reasons. SNSD as you may know have amazing, slender figures which motivates me to perhaps work out to tone up my body here and there (probably won’t happen but oh well). And Secret make curves look sexy! Honey thighs ftw :D So my favourite body features would be... height and eyes. Height because I reckon I’m average as I have the same amount of taller and shorter friends. My eyes because I like the way they look when I wear eye makeup.

8. If you could be any animal, which animal would you pick and why? It can be a mystical animal.
Not that familiar with mystical animals so I’ll go with an animal that I have at home – a cat of course! They’re so cute, fluffy but can be fierce with their meows (or ‘reows’) and sharp claws and teeth. I love how clean they are always so curious – just like me ^^

9. Most embarrassing/scariest thing that happened to you?
With these things, they are my suppressed memories which I tend to bury and never want to think about ever again. So I’ve probably had a tonne of each but cannot remember them all. Not sure about the 'most' but scary would be when I had tonsilitis. It was the most sick that I had ever been and I was on a drip and needed to visit the hospital for a while.

10. Biggest regret? Please don't say, "I don't regret anything because it made me who I am today".
It would be not going to the K-pop festival........................ nah I wouldn’t really call that a regret since I didn’t choose not to go.... I just wasn’t allowed because I had exams. A more serious regret would be about school. My studious ways have made me feel regretful =/

11. In five words, how would you describe yourself?
Kind, smiley, mature, brave and persistent. I never know what to say for questions like these. I'd prefer someone else to tell me what I'm like!

Done! I know I'm supposed to tag people after but I hate leaving people out and then sometimes the people I tag have already answered so I'll be lazy and a rule breaker by taggine YOU reading this right now. Yes I'm talking to you gorgeous ;P Feel free to do this tag, any of the two I've done above.

I hope you've learnt more about me and that you found it interesting. If there are any specific questions that you'd like me to answer, you can leave them in my Formspring

Apologies again for the lack of pictures. I'll blog again very soon with plenty of pictures, I promise :)

Tutorial: How to Apply Falsies [Requested] + Updates

Hey, how is everybody? Hope you're all well. Today my post is going to be one that was requested by one of my blog readers Mimi who wanted me to do a tutorial on how to apply falsies. I am welcome to your suggestions on blog posts so don't be afraid to let me know what you'd like to see here!

If you are completely new to this and have never/rarely worn false eyelashes then that's okay, I'm sure you're not the only one and hopefully my picture tutorial will be clear and will be a good starting point to learn how.

This is just my way of applying falsies, it doesn't have to be exactly like this!

I wad going to do a video tutorial... in fact I filmed one but it wasn't very good :| I've never done a picture tutorial before so bare with me if it's a bit dodgy lol. I've already got one pair of lashes on one eye as a comparison.

[My hair was still long when I took these pictures :P I did this tutorial a while ago but I obviously took my time with putting it up onto my blog]

Step 1: Have your falsies ready
Here I'm using Daiso #1 lashes. Daiso is unfortunately not available in my city :( Glad that my bf was able to get me some when he went to Melbourne earlier this year

Step 2: Measure them on top of your natural lashes
You don't have to have the lash starting from the very inner corner of your eye, you can leave a gap like I have above. It's actually more comfortable to wear like this.

Step 3: If needed, trim the outer corners of your falsies with a pair of scissors
Lashes tend to have a shorter end and a longer end. It's better to cut at the end that's longer because the shorter end goes on the inner corners of your eyes. If there is no longer or shorter side then you can cut at any of ends.

Step 4: Make sure that you have good eyelash glue
I've been using Duo Eyelash Adhesive and I swear by it! I haven't tried any other lash glue that holds my lashes in place as well as this. I love that it's waterproof and you can choose to have a white glue that dries clear or a dark glue which can blend in with your eyeliner

Step 5: Apply a thin line of eyelash glue to the band
It doesn't have to be thick at all! Just a 1mm line will do. Make sure that there is glue on the outer edges of the lash band because you won't want your lashes to start lifting up at the corners - that gets annoying, especially when it starts poking your eyelids

Step 6: Wait 10-20 seconds to let the glue set until it is tacky
You can just hold it and wait (which I find pretty boring) or you can....

... Start blowing at it x) I guess it speeds up the 'drying' time but that's what I tend to do, lol. Don't make the glue completely dry though!!

Step 7: Place the lash band as close as possible on top of your lash line
While this happens, the glue should still be quite wet and you'd be able to feel this when you place it on your lash line. Don't worry if you can see white glue, it'll dry clear if you use Duo glue. If not then you can draw over it with eyeliner

Step 8: While the glue has not fully set yet, maneuver the lashes so that it is stuck on properly and comfortably
The glue is white, therefore the glue has not fully dried yet. This means that you can still move the lashes around before it sets. I like to use tweezers to neatly push the corners of the lash bands onto my lash line

Step 9: If Step 8 is not needed, stay still while the glue dries
It's boring staying still while waiting for the glue to dry, so I like to tilt my head slightly back for the glue to dry without touching the top of my eyelid. Also, I like to use my eyeliner to draw over any gaps/glue lines. Here I'm using Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner, my holy grail

Step 10: Press the band firmly onto the lash band, making sure that the whole band is stuck down. If not, it may be best to start again

 [No image for this]

Step 11: Curl your lashes so that the falsies and your natural lashes blend in together
Gently press to curl the lashes together, or...

... use a heated eyelash curler. Here I was waiting for it to heat up. This is the heated eyelash curler from the brand '1000 Hour'

I don't think you'd have to worry too much about the heat affecting the glue. If you are worried then stick to using a mechanical lash curler

Step 12: (Optional) Apply mascara as per normal

I wasn't planning to go anywhere after I did the tutorial thus I didn't bother with mascara. Here's how it should look in the end:

I know I cheated by showing you the 'finished product' as the other eye's picture xD But still, I followed the same steps to achieve this. How did I go? Hehe

Both eyes done. I think I needed extra black eyeliner in between the lashes but mehhh, I didn't notice until I took a flash picture

Random 'end product' photo. My mirror makes an appearance again :]

That's basically it to it! Video tutorials are more informative and helpful in my opinion however I think having it out step by step with images is still okay, right? I've followed tutorials in magazines for hair/makeup etc. and I didn't have problems with those.

Do realise that eye shape can make a difference. It's taken me months of practice to be able to put on falsies within a matter of minutes for both eyes! I've had to get used to my eye shape being this way and leaving space on the inner corners of my eyes.

If you have any problems/questions about applying falsies, feel free to hit me up with them here, Twitter or on Formspring.

Now to a little 'life update' from me...

Firstly I want to say a big thank you to those who commented on my previous post. I'll be sure to do more lifestyle posts since they seem to be of high interest. I'm glad that my questjen was answered about whether or not we can become too old for plushies - the majority said that we can never be too old for plushies!

Within the past couple of weeks I have bought things that are not makeup-related (hooray)~ I bought my first Asian magazine and music CD in-store ^.^ First time ever having K-pop CDs in store, yay! I was going to online shop for these items but I remembered how exciting it is to see something you want in a shop and get it straight away without having to wait for it to arrive on your doorstep or in your letterbox.

Back issue of ViVi (Chinese Version) and T-ara's Breaking Heart Repackaged Album

Latest issues of ViVi are overpriced in my opinion -_- I don't mind back issues because all magazines are going to get 'old' anyway and these back issues in store were still in perfect unopened condition, just majorly discounted hehe. I mostly look at Asian magazines for their pictures anyway because I can only fluently read English :( I can sort of read Chinese but mm, I bought the Chinese ViVi version so that I could read it with my mum. Good bonding time lol.

Yeah, not that I know any Korean either but what can I say, I'm a K-pop lover. Not to that extent where it's freaky or I'm trying to be Korean (because I'm not haha), I've been hit with the hallyu wave since 2008. Don't know what that means? Google it :P A-cha~

Prefer the girls in black than the yellow and black. They're gorgeous either way

My blog makes it seem that I am 100% T-ara biased but in reality I'm not. They're not my number one favourite girl group which may be a surprise to some as I tend to associate them with my makeup looks and what not. SNSD (Girls' Generation) is actually my favourite but I haven't been too impressed with their visual concepts lately. T-ara has some cute-as former ulzzangs like Qri and Hyomin who have had some really pretty eye makeup looks that have inspired me! SNSD, not so much... they tend to go for the 'natural' look with no colourful/interesting eyeshadow colour combinations. Where's the inspiration for me :( ?

This in my opinion is T-ara's best album. It's their first full album repackaged with two extra songs. Their songs nowadays aren't as good as their originals *frowns*

Oh and on Friday night I went out with a few of the ABBM girls (mini bloggers meet up) to eat Korean BBQ! It was actually my first time (what is this, a month of firsts for me? haha) and I was happy with the whole 'all you can eat' concept about it, omnomnom. Sorry no pictures but I'll name the girls that I met up with: Celeste, Sherry, Jeneara/Steph (only for dinner) and Mae (only for dessert)

Afterwards we went to have dessert at the Aviary and I ordered Belgian Waffles. It was nice inside with a bird theme going on (hence aviary) and I didn't realise that there were two levels until I walked in. I'm happy with the way the dessert cafe looked but my dessert wasn't amazing. It was good though, and I finished it all despite feeling rather full after dinner. I took a picture before I started digging in:

I'm looking at this now at 12:30am and I'm not craving this at all o_o
As I said before, it wasn't an amazing mouth-watering dessert lol

Thanks to Celeste, these blogger meet ups in my city are happening! The impressive thing is that she isn't actually a blogger based in Adelaide but she comes down here once every month or so :) Soooo grateful for her making her way down here and arranging these meets *_* Thank you again Celeste! You are way too awesome.

Here's an update picture of my soon-to-be cat by the way. New blog followers of mine may have not met my pet kitten yet. I'll give a little intro: His name is Coco and I've had him since December last year. Here's almost 1 years old and his breed is Moggie :) Today I took a picture of him when he was sleeping on my bed. He woke up when I got my camera out but I managed to snap a picture of him with his eyes closed keke:

Definitely not as skinny as he used to be when I first got him! I refuse to say that he's fat lol, he's really not I swear x[ At least he's healthier now compared to his first day at my home:

I secretly wish that cats could stay tiny like this, eeee too cute!

I'll be sure to blog again next week after my final week of uni before the mid semester break. Stressing out now because of my assignments due soon.... I'm glad that I have my blog as my de-stresser. Can't wait to be on holidays, more time to blog again!

A questjen for you, because I am one curious girl:

How did you learn to apply false lashes?
Did you learn from a friend or a makeup artist? Youtube tutorial or self-taught? Or do you still not know how to apply falsies? Maybe you only found out how on this blog post xD

My answer:
I learnt through watching many Youtube tutorials! Very handy indeed. I wouldn't have a clue about who I learn from i.e. beauty gurus' usernames etc. but there are plenty of tutorial videos on Youtube to check out.

Don't fret if you can't put on falsies well - practice makes perfect I promise! Good luck :-)
