Review: EOS Pink Lenses

Hello everyone :) I'll be doing a review on a pair of pink lenses that were sent to me by MukuCHU and these lenses are from the brand EOS. Don't get that confused with the other EOS brand, aka Evolution of Smooth which are known for their lip blams, haha.

I also did a FOTD look to try and complement the lenses, using my 88 shimmer palette. I was going to use pink eyeshadow to match the pink lenses but that probably would have been pink-overload.

Anyway, for those who don't wear coloured lenses or know much about circle lens trends, pink is ones of the newest colour additions to the series of coloured circle lenses. The main colours are brown, grey, blue, green and violet. Pink lenses was the latest trend in 2009/10 and I remember being very curious about how pink lenses would look on my dark brown eyes. I bought my first pair of pink lenses last year, Geo Nudy Pinks which I reviewed here. They were very vibrant and I never wore them in public xD

Since those are almost past their expiry date, I thought it'd be nice to try a new design of pink lenses from a different brand.

EOS Baby Color Series

LENS USAGE: UP TO 1 YEAR
SHELF LIFE: 3 YEARS
MANUFACTURER / ORIGIN: SOUTH KOREA
MATERIALS: 2Hema
B.C.: 8.6mm
DIAMETER: 14.00mm to 15.00mm
WATER CONTENT: 38%

The lenses that I got are 14.0mm, the smallest diameter available for circle lenses

All of the colours in the series

There isn't an official model for these lenses or for most of the EOS lenses so I will be the model hehe. There's going to be a quite a few pictures of me with theses lenses on...

Lens on one eye and no lens on the other. Natural lighting

Lenses on both eyes, natural lighting

Lenses on both eyes, in flash photography

What a great model I am... a strand of hair is seen in that last picture, ugh! You know I could photoshop it out but I never like to photoshop my pictures. I show all imperfections :) This was the best I had - my other flash photography pictures had way more strands of hair in the way Dx

I just realised that I forgot to put on mascara on my bottom lashes... I didn't put any on my top lashes either lol!

Anyway, the lenses are vibrant and they do not blend in with your natural eye colour! As you can see, these lenses accentuate my pupils which aren't even that big. So yes, these lenses are not natural-looking at all and the fact that they are pink makes them even more noticeable and 'weird'.

They can give off an alien-ish look or reptile-like look as they cover my natural dark eyes really well. I think that regardless of what colour your natural eyes are, these pink lenses will turn out as a baby pink like colour of the actual lens itself.

This is what I mean about my pupils standing out so much, and these lenses look like stickers on my eyes. A bit creepy-looking ay?

They definitely don't look natural in normal lighting, but do they look ok?

EOS lenses are known to produce thinner lenses than other brands of lenses, which makes them more comfortable to wear (because you can't 'feel' them in your eyes as much as other lens brands) but a little more difficult to put on. I started wearing circle lenses in late 2009 so I've had a fair amount of experience with putting on lenses, yet I still have trouble sometimes. It's always hard for me to tell which is the right way of the lens and there have been times where I've put on lenses and they've made my eyes sting and water from pain ;( It happened when I first put on these lenses and I think I have myself to blame for that (I don't think I soaked them for long enough in solution and I should have cleaned them more thoroughly).

After you wear these lenses on correctly, they are very comfortable! So comfortable that there were times where I was using my iPod Touch and almost forgot that I still had them on. So comfortable that it would have been fine if I left them on for long x) Obviously, you have to eventually take them out as you shouldn't wear them for more than 8 hours a day!

Sometimes lenses tend to slip around on the eye when they're worn. Fortunately, these lenses stayed in tacked when I looked from side to side, up and down etc.

It's currently winter in Australia. Those who are experiencing summer right now are probably thinking, 'ew, a jumper! It's too hot for that' - well I'm loving my jumpers right now, and this one I'm wearing was gifted from my friend on my 18th birthday

The lenses are even more vibrant in flash photography

Colour: ★★★/5 - A little darker would stand out less and maybe look a tad more natural
Pattern: ★★★/5 - Doesn't blend with my eyes in the center but it's still a nice 1-tone pattern
Comfort: ★★★★/5 - I found these very comfortable to wear
Enlargement: /5 - Very subtle black limbal ring, minimal enlargement hence my rating is ★★★★/5
My overall rating: 16/20

If you're looking for some vibrant pink lenses for a party/cosplay etc, I would recommend these pink lenses. Mad props to you if you're willing to wear lenses like these on a regular day without makeup! You may end up freaking many people out haha. You can purchase these lenses HERE

So now to show you all my FOTD look that I did while I had these pink lenses on. I was inspired by the dramatic-ness of these lenses so I used colours like gold, bronze, orange shades that I normally wouldn't use for eyeshadow, but would love to use for fun ^.^

Please don't diss, I haven't applied vibrant eyeshadow on in a really long time D:
I am wearing Daiso lashes in number 8

Winged my eyeliner a bit and applied some purple/pink on my bottom lash line and black eyeliner on my waterline

And on my lips I am wearing NYX's Round Lipstick in Indian Pink. It's a gorgeous colour!

That's it for my review, I hope you found it useful and/or interesting. Thanks MukuCHU for sending these lenses to me :) If you'd like to see what other lenses MukuCHU has in stock, you can visit them here:

----------------------------------------

Now it's time for my questjen to you guys. This time it's a very simple yes or no question:

Pink lenses - yes or no?

What are your thoughts on pink lenses? Are they too weird? Would you wear them?

I think that pink lenses are okay but I'm still not game enough to wear them out in public :( I do have the GnG Max Pure Pink lenses which are still in their vials (I'm yet to open them lol) and judging by the pictures I've seen of people wearing them, they blend extremely well with dark eyes. Those pink lenses are the only lenses that I would consider wearing out for a natural look.

With these vibrant pink lenses, I wouldn't wear them out on a regular day i.e. to uni or work. I just don't want to attract to much attention and have people staring right into my eyes thinking 'wtf, you have pink eyes?'. I'm pretty shy so I wouldn't really like it if people did stare at me or ask too many questions about me T^T Pink is my favourite colour and when I found out that there would be pink lenses available, I initially had mixed thoughts but now I reckon that pink lenses are cool. It's a unique lens colour and is something new. However, pink lenses are probably something you either love or hate!

I have a preview for my next FOTD look. This was just a trial and I am sure that I will do a better attempt next time. If you follow me on Twitter, you may have already seen this picture but I'll post it here again for those who missed it or don't have a Twitter:

Can you guess what I'm trying to be or what I'm trying to do?

I'm wearing a nose clip to hide my nose, I'm wearing double eyelid tape to make my crease deeper and higher, I'm wearing dolly circle lenses, Dolly Wink Lashes, bottom lashes, black eyeliner, pink blush and barbie pink lipstick!

It's my first attempt to be a gal, following the hime-gyaru trend! The nose clip is used to hide my non gal-like nose :( Can't wait to do a full look with full-face makeup, hair styled, wearing an outfit etc :D Be on the lookout for it hehe.

If you have any suggestions or improvements for my gyaru look, please feel free to let me know :)

PS: Are you liking the new width of my posts? I decided to have a single sidebar so I can upload bigger pictures for my blog!

New Falsies + Updates

Helloooo everyone! So glad it's Friday night, the weekend is here and I have some time to blog :) How are we all? Hope everyone's had a great week~

Thanks to those who entered my giveaway last week! I had a mini giveaway which lasted for a week and I was giving away 3 sets of water nail decals which were from my Viva La Nails sample pack. To enter, all that was needed to be done was to comment on the post with the participant's name, email address and answer to the questjen which was 'How do you like to decorate your nails?'

Here are the lucky winners which I randomly chose out of a hat:

Tezza
Heatherette
Tram

Congrats girls! I will be emailing you shortly to let you know that you have won and to have your postal details :) I will send them out to you some time next week!

Sad that you didn't win? Don't worry! There will be another mini giveaway from me soon I promise ;)

Anyway, it's June now so I had to say a big bye-bye to May :( May was an incredible month for me for sooo many reasons and the highlights would definitely have to be:

- Celebrating my 3 year anniversary with my boyfriend ♥
- Celebrating my boyfriend's 19th birthday
- Celebrating my 18th birthday

May for me = jam-packed month of celebrations! It's always going to be a fun-filled and busy month for me which has its pros and cons, but mostly pros :D

I never got around to saying how my 18th birthday celebration went so I'll do a quick summary of it here with some pictures~

I know this is SUPER delayed but better late than never. Here's how my 18th birthday went back in May 22 2011...

I don't even know where to start but what I can clearly remember was the weather being very wet, gloomy and windy :( Despite that though, I still managed to have a great day! Although I was home for most of it, I was pretty much bombarded with birthday messages throughout the day via Twitter and Facebook (thank you all once again). Guess what? I managed to reply to all of them, which is quite rare for someone to do. On Facebook I see the occasional 'like' from the birthday girl/boy after they receive the birthday message you post on their wall. Does the 'like' button represent a thank you? I don't think it does. You might as well say thanks if you clicked the 'like' button. Then there are those who do the whole 'thank you everyone for the birthday wishes' status without personal acknowledgement which I don't particularly like. Hmm that's just how I feel about it. Anyway moving on...

Birthday selca (self-cam)

I remember my mum giving me a hug in the morning, that was quite sweet. I didn't actually get spoilt by my parents for my 18th, however they both paid for my celebration which was a few hundred dollars, mind you. I won't go into detail about what I got but you can watch my birthday haul vlog here which is pretty much everything I got. Oh wait, it's not. My mum got me a Harajuku Lovers perfume and I got some things from blog friends. Things that I got after I made the vlog haul:

From my mum ♥

Letter and earrings from Bunny

Letter and Daiso lashes from Jahnice

I had my 18th at a karaoke bar called and it's quite pretty inside. I had a girls' night with my close friends from high school who I don't usually see much since we're all over the place. I miss how we used to all hang out together in high school during recess and lunch :/ So my birthday was a great opportunity for us to all meet again ^^ It turned out to be such a fab night, loads of fun and laughter. I would love to relive that night again even though it was pretty chilly *brrr*.

1st song of the night - Katy Perry's Firework

We were there for a few hours and since it was a Sunday night, there weren't that many people at the bar which was alright. However there was a group of loud Asians singing in a room near ours and we heard a girl screaming in another room o_o Apparently there was a really drunk Chinese girl with a non-Asian boyfriend speaking fluent Mandarin to her. I didn't see or hear though, my friends did though. Oh and the drunk girl tried to come into our room :| That didn't spoil the night though lol. It was somewhat... amusing? But I've got to admit that I got worried haha...

Barbie Girl

Hmm what else... I had a large birthday cake which I bought from my work place :D Made great use of the staff discount! I only shared with 3 others because the rest had to leave before I started cutting the cake, but everyone sang happy birthday beforehand, aw. Ah well, that meant that there was more left over for me and my family x] It was also my brother's birthday on the same day so cake for him too! By the way he's not my twin or anything... he's 5 years older than me and it was a coincidence that we were born on the same day. I guess we were conceived around the same time too LOL *shifty eyes*

I think you should all be proud of me for staying 'sober' on my 18th. I didn't drink at all and I still haven't drank since! There was meant to be alcohol but my mum at the last minute told the bar guy not to serve us alcohol just in case anyone drove. That was okay because I didn't really want to drink as I had uni the next day. I'm not a fan of alcohol and maybe I would have it on a special occasion but I don't think it's necessary for 'having fun'. Unless fun is defined by something else but meh, soft drinks are fine!

You're probably all wondering about whether I celebrated with my boyfriend or not. Well yes, I did :) We spent the day together and he bought me a little cake. He didn't spoil me rotten but he got me some things that I really wanted/needed which was perfect ♥

And that's how my 18th went! If you didn't read it then you would have seen massive patches of white xD And now to bombard you with some more pictures. If you are a friend of my personal Facebook page, you probably would have already seen these pictures (sorry)

 My side profile
Does it make me vain to say that I really like my side profile?
Hehe, my nose looks pointy! (It's just an illusion, people)

I put my hair on the side so that the floral design of my dress could easily be seen. And I triend curling my ends but that failed -_- The white flower is really contrasting to the black~ By the way, my dress was super cheap which I bought like last year for no reason xD The reason being that was was only around $18 HAHA. And I never found the right occasion to wear it so I decided to wear it for my birthday lol. Black wasn't my ideal colour but oh well.

FOTN - NYX For Your Eyes Only (Mysterious Brown Eyes)

This was before I put on any eyeliner

I kept it quite neutral and subtle which was my aim. I created a 3-tone look using the following colours from the NYX palette:

6/10 used to create this look

There's yellowy gold in the inner corners, lilac in the center where the light reflects off of the most and a blend of the purple and taupe colour for the outer corners. I used the salmon pink as the base lid colour and used the white to highlight the brow bone.

To properly achieve this look, I used my new Sigma Eyes Kit brushes which my boyfriend got for me:

I will do a review on these some time!

I didn't put on blush because I'm the type that naturally blushes really easily so that's why I only own like 3 blushes which is still plenty for me haha. For my lips I used NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Natural.

My earrings for the night (:

I also have pictures of friends but for privacy reasons, I won't post their pictures here.

After a big night I took some pictures but my makeup made me look like I had panda eyes so it didn't look that great :/

Better shot of my dress but messy hair :|

Hair down and it curled a little haha
I absolutely love the lashes that I wore for my birthday, they looked so natural in pictures! I think they are my favourites now.

Recently I bought 4 boxes of 10 pairs of lashes of different styles because they were only less than $2 a box! Amazing, right?

1 box of criss-cross lashes and 3 boxes of straight lashes

The ones I used for my birthday celebration were these:

They lengthen so well yet they're hardly noticeable!

As for the other straight lashes that I got... I think they're too long and will be too noticeable D: So I probably won't be making use of them Which means that I will be giving them away!

2 lucky winners will receive a box of lashes!
(See I told you that there would be another giveaway from me very soon)

If you'd like to enter this mini giveaway, please comment below with your name and email address :) You must be a follower of my blog and I will check this! But to be fully eligible to win, you must also answer this week's questjen.

It's open to all readers and it will last for one week only. Winners will be announced in my blog post next weekend :D

This week's questjen is:

How often do you wear false eyelashes?

I wear them only on evening occasions like a party because I think it's too much for me to wear during the day. I barely wear makeup in the day time so having false lashes would seem a little dramatic for my daytime look. I love to wear them when I take pictures because mascara and curled lashes don't stand out that much. I use them in my tutorials, circle lens reviews and FOTD looks which again is not often at all. I don't have really short Asian lashes so I never feel insecure about my lashes not being long enough :) I actually contemplated on whether or not to wear falsies to my birthday - I was this close to not wearing them but now I'm super glad I wore them because they stand out nicely in my pictures!

Disclaimer: Everything was purchased with my own money besides the items gifted to me. The giveaway lashes were not sponsored.

Haul - Blog Sale Purchases

Hello! I'm so glad that Blogger is no longer down :) In the past couple of days there were errors and maintenance work happening so none of us could access it. Apparently some people have had their latest blog posts removed along with some comments but Blogger is going to try to get them all back, so fret not! It was nice talking to some of you on Twitter while Blogger had errors.

Time to do a massive photo-spam haul for you all, with the majority of my pictures taken from my new Samsung digital camera. I got a microSDHC card for it a few weeks ago, it's only 4gb which doesn't seem like much compared to my 64gb iPod lol. I can only record around 10 minutes worth of video footage on my camera :|

These items that I purchased were from MisoJenny's Japan Tsunami Donation Blog Sale where all of the proceeds went towards the Red Cross. You may remember me having my own blog sale like this but it was no where near as successful as Jenny's! With all the items that she had for sale as well as donated items from other bloggers/Youtubers including Fuzkittie, the amount raised was $804.44!
This was probably where my makeup-purchasing ban ended because I purchased quite a bit x) However I didn't feel guilty about splurging because they were bargains and I did my bit to donate to help Japan. It actually made me feel good :) Also, it allowed me to try new brands and products which you'll see soon.

So here is a picture of all the things I managed to get from the blog sale:

This post will only have swatches because it'll be too long if I review as well! I'm going to start from the top of the picture to the bottom.

My Beauty Diary Masks
5 Cooling Masks + 5 Mixed Berry Masks
= $9.78

Usually a box of 10 My Beauty Diary masks cost $10 plus and they're hardly ever mixed so I'm glad that I can try two different masks for the less than the price of one box. I haven't had the chance to try them yet but when I do, I may do a review on them!

NYX For Your Eyes Only - Mysterious Brown Eyes Palette

= $7
I think I purchased this by impulse because it wasn't something that I needed or had my eyes on but nonetheless, I'm happy with this palette. Here are some swatches:

First row
 Natural lighting + with flash

Second row
 Natural lighting + with flash

I love how they look so metallic and that they aren't heaps shimmery, just packed with lots of colour. There was a little bit of fallout when I swatched them but I blew them away. The eyeshadows had a very smooth texture which easily glided on my skin. I really like the neutral colours. I'm glad that I didn't previously own any neutral shades or palettes so this will come in handy :)

 NYX LIP PRODUCTS

NYX Mega Shine Lip Glosses
= $9.99

How cute are those bows at the top?!

The 3D bows at the top of the lids make the product have more of an 'Asian' style to them. I guess it's because these glosses were made in Taiwan *_*

Swatches
L-R: Natural, Beige and Smokey Look

With just one swipe, you can see that they are super pigmented :D I love all of the shades that I got, especially 'Natural' because well.. it looks so natural on my lips hehe. I don't have lip swatches at the moment but if I decide to review the NYX products then yes I will have lip swatches up. I must say that these lip glosses aren't sticky at all and they last quite long. I'm glad I snatched these up for less than $4 each.

NYX Lip Smacking Fun Colours
 = $9.60

Swatches
L-R: Thalia, Indian Pink, Frappucino and Louisiana

These are my first NYX lipsticks and I'm so glad that I've had the chance to try them. I'm quite impressed with their formula - they have such a silky-smooth texture and nice pigmentation. It's great how they have the exact shades at the bottom of the lipsticks so you can tell exactly how it looks like and you can easily pick the lipsticks out from your collection without needing to look at the names.

Revlon Lipstick in 020 Baby Pink
= $4.50

It's great that the colour on the lid is the exact colour of the lipstick itself. Sometimes they can be a little misleading but this one isn't at all. It's quite sheer when swatch however, I like that about it because the colour is buildable. It reminds me of my Rimmel lipstick in 006 Pink Blush which supposedly is a dupe for MAC Viva Glam Gaga #1. $4.50 is really cheap for this lipstick - in Australia these lipsticks are $20+ dollars each!!

Jenny included some 'freebies'/gifts for me as a way of saying thanks for my contribution to the appeal. I was going to talk about these at the end but since they're lip products, I might as well continue talking about them and show some swatches:

Covergirl Natureluxe Gloss Balm in 210 Thistle Cardon
Stila Lip Rouge Liquid Lip Stain

I had never seen or heard about the Covergirl gloss balms until I saw them on Jenny's blog sale. They aren't sold in Australia (yet) but I think they should be because it's quite nice :) And this is my first Stila product, yay.

Swatches
L-R: Stila, Revlon and Covergirl

The Stila Lip Rouge is so much like a permanent marker o_o I swatched it and it was soooo hard to remove without makeup remover! It definitely has that stain-like effect, it's incredible. Unfortunately, I'm not fond of having red lips - especially stained ones :/ So I won't be using this Stila product. I was thinking of selling/giving away but since it was gifted so I should keep it. I'll be using it as a permanent marker haha. At least I'll be making use of it, right?

Now to the nail polishes :D These came in a separate package to the above items because it would have been way too heavy for one big package, plus the shipping would probably cost a bomb. In total, my items came in 3 separate packages. I'm glad Jenny did that because if the whole package of all the items got lost, that would be so bad!!

The Face Shop nail polish

= $1.99

You can get Face Shop products in Australia but I never have before. There's one store in my city and it's really quiet. In case you haven't heard of The Face Shop before, it's a brand from South Korea. I got this because it was only $1.99 and I don't have any gold nail polishes like this.

2 coats

It's a sheer nail polish so 2-3 coats is ideal. There were no streaks when I applied it and I was quite happy with the time it took for the coats to dry. For $2 it's okay, its RRP is $2.99 so that's reasonable. The leaf groove on the lid is really unique.

Essie nail polishes
= $4 each

I'm still so glad that Jenny had Essie nail polishes for sale because I've been wanting to try them! In Australia, they are around $18 each whereas I only paid $12 for 3 of them ^.^

Of course, it's silly to do skin swatches so I painted all of my nails on one hand to show you proper swatches:

 Eternal Optimist
(1 coat)

 Demure Vix
(2 coats)

 Turquoise & Caicos
(2 coats)

I had high expectations for these nail polishes because of their high cost in Australia, and you know what? They exceeded my expectations! I swatched the 'Eternal Optimist' nail polish first and I was AMAZED at how pigmented it was for just one coat. The others were more sheer so they needed another coat or two. Applying the nail polishes on was such a breeze as there was no streaky-ness. The staying power is fantastic, I was able to wear 'Eternal Optimist' for over a week without any chipping! I swear it could have lasted so much more than a week - I didn't get to test exactly how long it would last because I removed it to do more swatches. I want more Essie nail polishes for $4 each lol T_T

 Sephora by OPI nail polishes
 = $4 each

I was also happy to see some OPI nail polishes on the blog sale! I've heard so many good things about OPI and I had been wanting to try them out! These aren't the original OPI ones that are really common but the formula should be the same. Again, these nail polishes are majorly overpriced in Australia, retailing for around $20 each (correct me if I'm wrong). I can't bring myself to splurge on high-priced makeup yet.

 Havana Dreams
(2 coats)

 Under My Trench Coat
(2 Coats)
 Handpicked for Me
(2 coats)
So happy to have a pale blue and brown nail polish to add to my growing collection. They have a ball inside which is good for shaking the bottle. They're quite sheer for one coat except for 'Under My Trenchcoat' which I'd be fine to wear as one coat. When I think about their RRP Australian prices, it makes me expect more from these nail polishes. If I had purchased these here for ~$20 each, I wouldn't be overly impressed. Sure they'd last long without chipping but I didn't expect them to be sheer. However for $4 each nail polishes, they are impressive =]

That's it for my massive haul! I was going to do a video but it would have taken me forever and editing is such a pain *props to Youtubers*. Even this post took me hours to do, no joke!

Thank you Jenny for holding such an awesome blog sale for a worthy cause. The items for sale were amazing and the people who donated items were so generous. I'm really glad that I've had the chance to try some brands that I previously didn't own like Essie, OPI and Stila which cost heaps in Australia.

Blogging is really rewarding, not only for the friendships and being part of a community but also for the blog sales and giveaways ;)

Speaking of which...

There's only 1 week left to enter my May giveaway (ends 22nd May)! Which also means that there's 1 week left until I turn 18 ^_^

I hope you enjoyed reading about this haul. Should I haul more often? I will have reviews for some of these items such as the NYX lip products since that has been requested :) Feel free to leave your requests below.

QuestJen of the week is:

Have you or would you ever purchase from a blog sale?

This was actually my first time purchasing from a blog sale and I had wanted to purchase from other blog sales but the items were snatched up pretty fast. I find them interesting to browse through and it's hard for me to resist a bargain when I see one. With this specific blog sale, I wasn't feeling skeptical about it because I had already known of the seller, Jenny. She has a Youtube channel as well as a blog so she definitely isn't some random person who has decided to sell things online. When purchasing from a blog sale, you need to be aware that the items may not be in mint condition as they could have already been used etc. The prices are discounted from the RRP for a reason - you pay for what you get. You also need to make sure that they are legit and are not scamming you. I haven't come across anyone who has been scammed from a blog sale but it could happen to anyone who isn't being careful. If you ever feel unsure about a blog sale, ask other people about it just in case it turns out to be fake or misleading.

If you know anyone who is having a blog sale now, feel free to link them to me! I'd love to have a browse.

PS. The next time you hear from here me will probably be when I'm officially a year older. Ooh!
