Summer Look featuring EOS Fuzzy Petal Lenses

Hi all! Apologies for not posting in the past week and a bit - I had something in mind for last week but I didn't get around to writing it. I'll have it up next week though :)

Because for this week, I'll be doing a 2-in-1 review using a FOTD look (inspired by summer) I created recently. A pair of lenses and a pair of false eyelashes... both go so well together and saves me from taking separate pictures for review and blogging.

For the first time in like... ever, I managed to snap a few pictures outside in my backyard. Nothing too fancy but I just thought that it would be appropriate to be taking 'summer' shots outside while it's still summer over here.

In case you weren't aware, I now have pinkish/brownish/orange-ish ends

I used my Maybelline Hypershine Diamonds palette which I got last year here and for me the warm, fiery tones reminded me of summer. What I love about it is that it's great for both day and night - neutral yet vibrant colours!

The only flowers in my backyard right now...

Anyway, about the lenses that I am wearing, they are the EOS Fuzzy Petal Brown lenses from MukuCHU and I noticed that the pattern is quite similar to the GEO Angel Brown lenses. Though compared the the Angel Browns, these are much lighter and are more on the 'yellow' side.

AUD $20

Indoor, natural lighting

Comparison of no flash and flash photography

With the black limbal ring and a diameter of 14.7mm, these lenses are perfect for that dolly look. However if you are aiming for a more exaggerated dolly look, lenses that are 15-16mm would be a better choice. I wouldn't say that these are natural-looking but for someone who is aiming to have doll-like eyes without creeping people out to the max then I would totally recommend these. They aren't too outrageous and dramatic.

At first I was having a bit of trouble with these lenses (stung and felt that they didn't 'fit' properly) but after changing the soaking solution and using eye drops, they were comfortable to wear and I had no issues with them afterwards.

Simple design yet pretty - love 'em!

The Soft Criss-Cross lashes complement these lenses very well as they are also quite fancy but not too out-there. They are from KKCenterHK:

USD $6.49

Not only are the lashes soft - the band is too! This allows me to gently bend the band into shape to fit onto my upper lash line. I love the length of these and because the lashes aren't so dense, they're really lightweight and blend amazingly with my natural lashes. The good thing about these is that you can glue them on top of each other the add volume if necessary... though I would leave them as they are :)

At this angle, they look super subtle

New favourite lashes right now are these!

There's not much more to say about them; the images speak for themselves! I would definitely recommend and for only $6.49 for 10 pairs, it would be so worth it I swear :D And you can get an additional 10% off with the promo code 'QUESTJEN'.

Thank you to my lovely sponsors for making this FOTD what it is and to YOU for reading/dropping by. As a sign of appreciation, I will upload this silly picture of me to make you smile.... maybe....

If it's not too ugly....

Questjen of the week:
What would you do if I came up to you like this and tried to hug you? LOL

Kidding, kidding. You don't have to answer that :P

REAL questjen of the week:

Which do you prefer - circle lenses or falsies?

My answer: Falsies of course!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! Here's a flower for you :3

Grr fringe strand, I hate you!

Ways to Wear a Cut-out Blouse

Lately I've been doing some damage to my wallet and bank account as I have been working more and since Chinese New Year is just around the corner, I thought 'why not?!'. And which girl doesn't like shopping or having new things :P

I bought this white chiffon cut-out blouse from YesStyle made from the Korean brand prischu essentials. It's really casual and quite versatile as you can pair it with pretty much anything (pants, skirt and more). These days I'm liking collared tops - I think they're so cute yet classy!

As the back is cut-out, I decided to experiment a bit with the sleeves just for fun. I don't intend to wear it out differently but I thought it'd be interesting to share the ways you could potentially wear this shirt to make it look different to how it is usually worn.

Mind you, I did iron the blouse beforehand but it got crinkly again. Chiffon, Y U do this to me?!

With a cut-out blouse, you can simply do this:

(I wouldn't wear it like this)

I have came up with ways to make this blouse completely sleeveless and I wouldn't be surprised if others already knew about these as they are very simple. I just wanted to be creative with it :)

1. Tie at the front

2. Bow at the front

3. Tie and tuck

4. For a slightly different type of sleeveless, you could wrap the sleeves around your arms once, twist the remaining and tuck it into the side of your blouse:
(I actually came up with this while taking the pics, hence the unevenness)

Are there any other ways of wearing a cut-out blouse?? It's cool how you can instantly change something long-sleeved into something short-sleeved.

Taking outfit shots is troublesome without a tripod, as you may have seen in my 365 challenge photo. Boxes surely come in handy though.

A way to accessorise your blouse besides wearing jewellery is to wear... a bow tie!

It belongs to my dad

As I was taking photos, I also tried to be a little... artistic with my poses lol. I know nothing about being artistic or photogenic...
Yes I did wrap the bow tie around my eyes hahaha
I wasn't in the middle of putting my bow tie on... even though it looks like it -_-

A fashion post done! About time I did more of these. I love beauty blogging but fashion is my other love and I hope I can write more posts on this topic ^_^

Questjen of the week:

I've made a poll and I'd love to see your reasons why or why not in the comments below!

Hope everyone's having a great day/afternoon/night and Happy Lunar New Year :D Yay Sunday!

OOTD: Burgundy Maxi Skirt

Hi all! This week has been such a busy week for me that I didn't get to properly plan and think about my next blog post. I've decided to make this one a short update/lifestyle one where I include an Outfit of the Day.

Grey tee (YesStyle), black blazer (Free Fusion), burgundy maxi skirt and bow belt (from Eleanor)

Eleanor of "Shameless Quirks" (whom I got to meet up with at the Melbourne Bloggers Meet!) had a pre-loved clothes blog sale and that was where I made my first ever maxi skirt purchase. I was so excited to receive it and try it on because it looked gorgeous on her. And for only $10, it was a steal :3 I loved how she included the bow belt - it goes so well with it!

She's actually going to be selling pre-loved clothes and more along with Melody (Melludee) and Sue (en-ce-moment) tomorrow morning at the Camberwell Market! If only I resided in Melbourne or was there again :( I would totally go and visit them at their stall!!

Anyway, I decided to wear the maxi skirt because it was quite a chilly day (quite odd for summer) when I went out to catch up with a friend over coffee.

This was good but yep... still missing the Starbucks :/

One of my favourite shops in Chinatown is Kawaii which is divided in two sections - one side sells items where everything is $2.80 which I guess is a mini Daiso. Actually it's not even half the size of Daiso :(

They also have a small range of Japanese snacks which may be more or less than $2.80. I grabbed these Rilakkuma sticks for $1.50... only because the packaging was so cute ^^

 They're ok haha, I think they're vanilla-flavoured

However the other half of the store sells most Japanese cosmetics, magazine, skincare products, accessories and more! There is even a Jill Stuart collection locked up in a glass cabinet and it looks so pretty T__T I want it all!

Unfortunately I wasn't able to take a picture of it while being subtle about it. I just know that sales assistants get annoyed when customers take photos inside their store. Though I did manage to take a few sneaky ones lol.

So sorry for the bad quality >< Being sneaky isn't easy!

Dolly Wink range *_* I would much rather buy online though... these are overpriced!

I found it cool how they have a Japanese tutorial video playing of how to use these double eyelid fibres

On Thursday I played tennis for the very first time! Not competitively though, just for fun and to get a feel for what it's like to serve and hit the ball. The poor boyfriend had to put up with my noob skills and unco-ness xD But thankfully he said that he would like to play tennis with me again some time!

Afterwards we went to eat at a nearby cafe and I had something quite yummy and refreshing:

Can't go wrong with a warm chicken and crispy bacon salad!

I seriously can't believe that it's February already and I'll be heading back to uni in a month's time. Am I looking forward to it? Yes and no, but mostly yes. No because of the stress and lack of sleep but yes because I am looking forward to seeing my friends who I haven't caught up with in the holidays and... the fact that I will be starting another degree. This means that I will finish the one that I have been studying (in my final year now) and then start the next one the following year. I will graduate with two separate degrees! I was supposed to officially graduate from uni next year but it looks like I'll be staying for at least another three! Commerce, here I come :) And cheers for the offer.

That's about it for my 'life update'. Not sure if these types of posts are interesting or worth reading; though I must say that they remind me a lot of when I first started blogging back in '08 with my daily non-beauty/fashion-related recounts.

Hope you're all well and thanks for reading~
